After exploring the destruction of the eruption at Gigjökull, our tour takes us to the beautiful Seljalandsfoss, where nimble passengers can walk behind the cascade. On the way there, we will sightsee in an impressive hidden canyon with unique flora, green moss walls and a beautiful waterfall before stopping to enjoy an Icelandic picnic.
After the picnic, we explore areas where no normal vehicle can reach, areas which were badly hit by ashfall in the eruption, and we drive across glacial rivers on our journey to the eruption site. We’ll even get close enough to (almost) touch some hot lava rocks.
The Atlantic Ocean, with vast panoramic views, is our final stop of the tour. We will drive along dramatic black beaches and have some fun in the sand on our way to the inspiring Skógarfoss waterfall before we head back to Reykjavik.
