Day 2. Stunning Waterfalls - Black Beaches - Glaciers and Volcanoes

Your personal guide will pick you up in the morning and you will start your Icelandic adventure. The first stop is Hverageri, a small town with many steaming vents and where hot spring water is used for heating greenhouses. Next you will stop at two majestic waterfalls ľ Seljalandsfoss and Skˇgafoss. Depending on weather conditions it is possible to walk behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall. As you visit the waterfalls you will pass the infamous Eyjafjallaj÷kull Glacier and a volcano that last erupted in 2010. On your way to the small town of VÝk you will visit the stunning black lava beach with Reynisdrangar Pinnacles. As you continue further east, you will visit the impressive Fjarßrglj˙fur Canyon and Kirkjugˇlfi (The Church floor) - a protected natural monument just east of KirkjubŠjarklaustur. Kirkjugˇlfi's basalt columns have been eroded and shaped by wind and water, but they look man-made. In the evening, if the weather conditions allow, you can head out on a hunt for northern lights on your own. Ask your guide to provide you with northern lights forecast information.

The powerful eruption quickly broke the ice cover of the glacier and began spewing ash into the air in a magnificent display. You will visit Skaftafell National Park, a tranquil paradise at the foot of Vatnaj÷kull Glacier. Your guide will show you some of the most interesting sites at the park, such as the picturesque Svartifoss waterfall. After exploring Skaftafell you will head to J÷kulsßrlˇn Glacial Lagoon which is considered by many to be the greatest natural sight in the country and where huge icebergs float in the crystal clear lagoon. After all the sightseeing you will head back to Hella area for an overnight stay. Your guide will let you know in the evening if the conditions are right for a Northern Lights hunt.

Only a short distance from the Geysir geothermal area you will find the majestic and impressive Gullfoss, also known as The Golden Waterfall, which is one of the largest waterfalls in Iceland. Next you will continue to Ůingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the place where the Icelandic Parliament was established in 930.
