Next you will continue to Geysir geothermal area, where you´ll find various hot springs and geysers. Strokkur Geyser erupts every 8 minutes in a magnificent display of nature's power as boiling hot water shoots 15 to 20 meters in the air. A little firther you will find Gullfoss, aslo known as the Golden Waterfall, one of Iceland´s most impressive waterfalls and without a doubt the one that attracts the most visitors. A little further, the powerful Skógafoss Waterfall plunges 60 meters, creating a spectacular splash. Visit the black beach of Reynisfjara, where huge basalt columns seem to rise from the ocean to meet the sky, and the Dyrhólaey Nature Reserve. Stop at the charming town of Vík before continuing over the floodplains to the town of Kirkjubćjarklaustur. Be sure to see Kirkjugólfiđ (the Church Floor) where basalt columns have been eroded and shaped by wind and water to look like man-made tiles.
